Coccinellidae: AKA Lady Bugs..

Coccinellids are found worldwide, with over 5,000 species. Lady bugs are a friendly bug that help keep your home and garden free from aphids, mealybugs and other scale insects. Most coccinellidae have oval, dome-shaped bodies with six short legs. Depending on the species, they can have spots, stripes, or no markings at all. Seven-spotted coccinellidae are red or orange with three spots on each side and one in the middle. They have a black head with white patches on either side. Birds are their main predator along with frogs and lizards. Lady bugs have an average life span of 1 to 2 years. Many cultures also consider them to be good luck if they land on you. Do some research on lady bugs and see all the beautiful pictures of these magnificent bugs.

German Cockroaches

German roaches are the most common house pest in the state of Texas. They live in the home in dark, damp places and in cracks and crevices. They also will live in attics, wall voids, crawl spaces, foundation cracks, garbage areas and around the landscape.  Roaches can  spread food contaminants and other air borne illnesses. While keeping your home clean and clutter free is a great way to help fight the nasty bugs, it will not ensure that roaches will are gone. Year round pest control is the best way to prevent, treat, and eliminate the nasty bugs.

Scorpions in Texas

Did you know…. The Striped Bark Scorpion are the most common and wide spread scorpion in Texas. They are inactive during the day and come out at night in order to maintain their body temperature and their water levels. Keep a close eye out for these nasty creatures. Their stings are very painful and can cause swelling, itching, burning and even an allergic reaction. As of now, humans are safe from lethal scorpion in Texas, but you never want to risk a sting.
